Climate
The state legislature has a duty to address the climate crisis. We must use every tool available to meet Governor Evers’ 2050 net-zero emissions targets. In the power sector we need to decommission existing fossil fuel plants, and expand permitting of solar and wind.
We must reduce transportation emissions by supporting the development of public transportation, bike and pedestrian infrastructure, and intercity passenger rail. These initiatives, among others, will be critical to reducing emissions, cleaning our air, and preventing natural disasters.
We must also stand up to polluting corporations to safeguard our environment and biodiversity for future Wisconsinites. I will fight to release funds allocated for PFAS cleanup and hold the polluters who create them accountable.
Thad will also work to end statewide liability protections for fossil fuel pipelines that destroy our ecosystems. This would allow local governments to hold polluters accountable for the burdens they place on our state.
